2 Hour Hot Glass Beads/Pendants Class

Service Description

This intro to lampworking/flameworking Hot Glass Class is flexible in what the student will have the opportunity to learn. Options include a brief intro to Soft Glass 104COE Beadmaking on a mandrel, a brief intro to borosilicate 33COE glass freehand exploration where the students will hold glass rods and shape them in the flame to create unique wearable or trinket pieces, or a combination of both in the same class. Just communicate your preferences with the instructor prior to class beginning. Class will begin with a safety and basic torch orientation before transitioning into learning the fundamentals of flameworking. Students will operate their own torch to create their glass pieces. Each student will make multiple pieces during this class. Glass will need to anneal overnight in our kiln and will be available for pick up or shipment to your home. Beginner borosilicate glass designs include basic color swirls, small animal likenesses, leaves, mushrooms or something similar. Beginner soft class will be a variety of bead styles created on a stainless steel rod. Please wear cotton clothing and close toed shoes with long hair pulled back. Must be 14yr or older for this class. This class requires pretty good close vision, hand dexterity, and the student must be comfortable working with fire. All materials are provided with the cost of this class, no hidden fees. This class is being held in our studio at 201 Center Park Drive #1140 Knoxville, TN 37922. Please arrive at least 10min early to get acclimated to the studio and select your supplies. This booking site only allows for one seat to be booked at a time unfortunately. If you are trying to book mulitple seats at a time, you may encounter "sold out" or some sort of error. Try logging out, then back in to book the subsequent seat for the class. Each booking requires a unique name but you can have the reminders sent to the same phone number / email if you would like.
